Faculty facts and figures
The Faculty of Psychology was founded in 2004 and is one of the youngest Faculties at the University of Vienna. The first chair was implemented in 1922 and the Institute of Psychology was opened in 1934. Currently, there are 17 full professorship positions established and seven further positions for associated professors. Overall, the faculty has on average 280 employees.

- Bachelor's programme: 2,200 students
- Master's programme: 1,450 students
- Doctoral programme: 100 students
Leadership and structure
The Dean leads the faculty together with the vice deans and is supported by the Dean’s Office together with the Head of Dean’s Office. All study relevant issues are treated at the StudiesServiceCenter (SSC) and are under responsibility of the Director of Studies and the two Vice Director’s of Studies.
The Faculty consists of four departments:
- Department of Cognition, Emotion, and Methods in Psychology
- Department of Clinical and Health Psychology
- Department of Occupational, Economic, and Social Psychology
- Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology
Additionally, an Outpatient Department for Research, Teaching and Practice has been established in October 2017.
