Um die neue Kollegin besser kennenzulernen, haben wir ihr ein paar Fragen gestellt …
Position/Institut: Universitätsassistentin (Praedoc) am Institut für Psychologie der Entwicklung und Bildung, Arbeitsbereich Entwicklungspsychologie, Betreuerin: Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Psych. Dr. Stefanie Höhl
Ich bin nach Wien gekommen, weil mich die Arbeitsgruppe und ihre Forschung überzeugt haben und ich etwas Neues kennenlernen wollte.
Zuvor war ich hauptsächlich an der Universität Osnabrück (Deutschland), aber ich konnte auch tolle Erfahrungen sammeln an Universitäten in Regina (Kanada), Kopenhagen (Dänemark) und am Max-Planck-Institut in Nijmegen (Niederlande).
Als Doktorandin erforsche ich neuronale Synchronität, selektive Aufmerksamkeit und deren Auswir-kungen auf die kognitive und soziale Entwicklung von Kleinkindern.
Mich inspiriert eine diverse Wissenschaftsgemeinschaft, die mit Empathie und Neugier forscht.
Meine Arbeit schafft gesellschaftlichen Mehrwert, indem ich die Grundlagen von Aufmerksamkeit und anderen kognitiven Prozessen erforsche und dadurch herausfinde, wie sich unser menschlicher Verstand überhaupt formt und entwickelt und wie wir ihn bei dieser Entwicklung unterstützen können (z.B. durch rhythmischen Input).
Meinen Zugang zur Entwicklungspsychologie fand ich durch inspirierende Forschungserfahrungen mit Babys und Kindern während meines Studiums der Kognitionswissenschaften.
In meiner Freizeit erkunde ich momentan die Stadtwanderwege Wiens. Ansonsten verbringe ich gerne Zeit mit Freunden, lese viel und lasse meiner Kreativität beim Töpfern freien Lauf.
Wer sich beim gemeinsamen Small Talk über etwas anderes als die Arbeit austauschen will, plaudert mit mir über diese Themen: Kunst, Natur, Bücher, Trash-TV … Eigentlich kann man mit mir über alles außer Fußball und die Börse quatschen.
Das darf an meinem Arbeitsplatz nicht fehlen: Snacks & Kaffee (für den Körper) und tolle Kolleg*innen (für die Seele)

I came to Vienna because the work group and their research convinced me and I wanted to learn and experience something new.
I have previously been mostly at the University of Osnabrück (Germany), but I was also fortunate to gain great experiences at universities in Regina (Canada), Copenhagen (Denmark) and at the Max Planck Institute in Nijmegen (Netherlands).
As a predoctoral student, I research neuronal synchrony, selective attention and their effects on the cognitive and social development of young children.
I am inspired by a diverse scientific community that conducts research with empathy and curiosity.
My work adds social value by exploring the foundations of attention and other cognitive processes and thereby finding out how our human mind forms and develops in the first place and how we can sup-port it in this development (e.g. through rhythmic input).
My approach to developmental psychology was shaped by inspiring research experiences with babies and children during my studies in cognitive science.
In my free time, I am currently exploring Vienna's city hiking trails. Otherwise, I like to spend time with friends, read a lot and let my creativity run free with pottery.
